- Stop being so tough on yourself…EVERYONE has eaten more than they planned ! Its not easy to say no to every offer of mince pies..chocolates…bailieys..etc etc so forget about that because this year is all about looking forward not backwards.
- Find your reason ….why is eating healthy food and exercising important to you? What do you want to achieve? Write that down now and put it somewhere you can see it every day.
- Make an exercise plan that fits with you. If you set out to do something that wont really fit you wont stick to it and then you will start feeling bad about yourself unnecessarily. There is no room for feeling bad about yourself this year so set the realistic plan from day one !
- Be prepared ! meal planning is something that I know works. When we rush in from work and we are tired and hungry and we havn’t thought about what we are eating then its really easy to grab something less healthy.
- Manage your stress levels. Stress stops us thinking clearly so all our best plans fly out the window and we get more stressed !
Who is getting married this year ? Who had a New Year or a Christmas proposal ? I know one person who did…my new to be daughter and law was proposed to on Christmas Eve by my son after 6 years together and we couldn’t be happier for them both.
Another wonderful couple who got engaged last year are Matt and Katy who I have been working with now for 3 sessions delivering to them my Perfectly Prepared Package in my new wedding range of Hypnotherapy Services !
Matt and Katy have kindly offered to share their story with you all to help me demonstrate the amazing results that can be made using hypnotherapy, not only when you are planning a wedding but in everyday life with every day issues. You can follow both Matt and Katy on Instagram for some really fab and funny videos about their experience first hand but this is their story so far from me….
Matt and Katy are getting married in July 2020 and when I met them both for their first session neither of them had ever had hypnotherapy before and they were both unsure what or how things could be achieved and both were suffering with a lot of life stress ! This is a really common place for people to start when they first come to see me. They have an idea that they would like things to change but often life and life stress is getting in the way of them even thinking clearly about what that is. I start every single session no matter what the issue with a good old brain de-clutter, getting rid of the excess stress so that people can think clearly. In my experience almost everyone is carrying a certain amount of unnecessary stress and we need to address that before we start, but it doesn’t take long and then we can really get to work.
Katy in particular wated to make some lifestyle changes, like eating a heathier diet, reducing her diet coke intake and just feeling better about herself and the way she looked. She hadn’t even started to look for wedding dresses because of the way she was feeling.
The focus from both of their initial sessions was to reduce stress and get them focussing upon themselves and their positive qualities.
As we were holding the session at my Seaham Hall Spa site, they both ended their session with a quick hour in the spa and I sent them off to enjoy the magic !
On Session two I was overjoyed to hear about the positive changes that had started happening for them both already.
Katy had stopped drinking diet coke !!! She was feeling really good about herself and had been wedding dress shopping ! Wow, brilliant progress !
Matt can’t believe how much more relaxed and focussed he is, he had noticed an amazing shift in this aspect of his life and now that they had their life stress under control they had done some wedding planning that they hadn’t even started yet because of the other aspects of their life !
I’m seeing Matt and Katy fort her 3rd session next week, and I just cant wait to hear how they are getting along.

Its the 20’s once again, wow, what a year its been. I don’t know about you but I feel like I blinked and it passed. So much has happened and changed but here we are. A new year is a great time to set goals and think about what you want to achieve. Hypnotherapy is a great tool for helping you change unhealthy habits for positive ones and for recovery from anxiety, depression and past trauma. Perhaps you would love to travel more but you have a fear of flying and that’s getting in your way. The start of the new year is the perfect time to start putting plans into action but how do Goals change from ideas into Reality ?
Making plans or setting goals is great as a starting point but thinking about HOW you will succeed in the goal, WHAT steps you need to take and HOW you will know when these have been achieved ,is a process that really helps.
I work with many people who have got to the stage of writing goals many times especially at New Year but come the end of January those have wondered off somewhere never to be found again until next Christmas.
Why? Why does this happen ? I have asked myself that many times in my life because I am also one of those people who has set goals and never seen them through for one reason or another.
Lets use dieting for a great example at this time of year. “Thats it, after New Year thats me on the salad and I mean it this time ” Sound familiar ?
If we havnt addressed why we eat unhealthy foods in the first place or why we cant find that motivation to exercise a little bit more then thats never going to work no matter wat your intentions are.
Hypnotherapy can work with the subconscious mind and find out that reason..then it can look at changing that view or feeling…then it can support you to make healthy choices…and then you can forget about diets for ever !
I know this may sound a bit easy and a bit simple…but you know what, once you make thse changes at a deep subconsice level, it really can be.

I thought I was really chilled about Christmas, trying hard to focus on the important things in life, not the presents and the Black Friday deals but when I saw a post from my friend stating that on the 1st December she was just off to get her last bits for Christmas and I hadn’t bought a thing I found myself going into panic mode ! I thought to myself, I bet I am not the only one at this stage on December feeling this way so I have put together a few of my Top Tips to help us, myself included, through the Christmas period in one piece.
Stay Hydrated and increase your vitamin intake. Fend off mental and physical illness with this one.
A simple catch up over a coffee with a friend is always worth fitting in. Remember the last time you did that? I bet you walked away feeling fab.
It is cold but get your hat on and take a walk in the fresh air as often as you can. It will freshen up and focus the mind.
And finally. make a list of what really is important to you and your family at Christmas. I bet that matching place-mats isn’t on there so take those things off your to do list and focus on the ones that matter.

Following the walk we return to the warm and you are treated to an hour long Hypnotherapy Relaxation session which ties up all the change work done throughout the day and you go home at 2.30pm with an indulgent bath treat to use that evening.

Did you know that I have a clinic at Seaham Hall Spa each week ?
